Bunce Island Castle in 1805. The headquarters building, or "Bance Island House," stands at the center of the complex. The Fortification, with 8 cannons, facing downriver toward approaching ships, contains two semi-circular bastions, one flying the British flag and the other, the company flag. On the right, we see the Gate Tower, and on the left, the Office Tower. This computer-generated (C-G) image is based on precise measurements of the ruins, including walls, windows, and doorways. The computer artist has blended C-G images with photographs of the surrounding landscape taken from the island. He has also used photographs of the ruins to recreate the actual color and texture of the walls.
